A bit more hope for infrastructure improvements in Brazil?

Two things make up the custo Brasil, the country’s impossibly complex tax system and the parlous state of national infrastructure. Valor Econômico is reporting that there might be substantive movement on the infrastructure front, with Dilma considering the release of concessions in four areas this August: roads, railways, airports and electricity. The biggest shake ups might come in electricity where a number of existing concessions are set to expire over the next few years. One thing is certain, improvements in airports and roads can’t come soon enough for the World Cup or Olympics.
